It has four adjustable heights that should offer ergonomic benefits to reduce neck and wrist strain. It works with both USB-C and Thunderbolt laptops, although the 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3 and 4 laptops will throttle back to 5Gbps when interacting with any devices connected to the X-Kit. The hub enables you to tidily connect storage drives, memory sticks, a wired mouse and keyboard, and an external display via the included USB-C cable–without a dangling dongle in sight. It’s lightweight (283g or 10oz) and small enough when folded for you to slip into a small travel bag. In a great X-shaped design in cool Obsidian black, it’s the hub that really makes this stand, er, stand out. It’s a small, foldable laptop stand for 11-16in laptops, with an integrated 5-in-1 USB-C hub and docking station. UGreen’s X-Kit hub-stand fulfils the role of both stand and USB hub. UHS-I SD and microSD card slots for adding affordable, portable storage. The base features a silicon layer of cushioning to keep your MacBook securely in position. It’s lightweight (308g or 11oz) and collapsible and can be used in five ergonomic positions. It can support up to 100W MacBook charging power. Some rival hub/stand combos don’t include the built-in cable so you need to use another of your laptop’s Thunderbolt ports to keep it charged, but the Hyperdrive stand connects to your MacBook (13-16in) using its own integrated USB-C cable, leaving the separate USB-C port on the hub free for other devices or more likely a USB-C PD wall charger. The connection is USB-C rather than Thunderbolt so doesn’t offer the full bandwidth but it is still compatible with modern MacBooks. You can add memory sticks or other external storage devices, or a wired mouse or keyboard if you fancy. It features a 5Gbps USB-C port, two 5Gbps USB-A ports, both SD and microSD card slots and an HDMI port for attaching an external display, which will also help you achieve a better ergonomic position. This clever USB-C hub is a laptop stand that also includes a range of ports to expand those on the connected MacBook. The Curve Riser will put your second screen at a similar height to the laptop, and includes a handy shelf for a docking station or other device. Twelve South also has a companion stand for the external display you might connect to your MacBook. The Curve Flex is available in matte black or white. While it costs more than the Curve, and indeed many of the MacBook stands tested here, the flexibility and portability justify the extra expense. It weighs 28oz (795g), folds flat and comes with a padded neoprene travel sleeve. The Curve Flex is not just flexible it’s portable, too. You can angle the MacBook’s keyboard from 0 to 45 degrees. This flexibility is better for your neck, back and eyes. It can elevate your MacBook screen and camera up to 22 inches (56cm) so it can be close to eye level and aligned with an external screen if you have one. The Cuve Flex, from premium accessory maker Twelve South, remedies this limitation with both height and tilt adjustability. Many laptop stands are rigid and offers little flexibility.

But not offering a guarantee on services along with a contract is a no-win situation for the client. But only after their contracts had ended. I’ll break down each of their services and give you a review of the work they do.īefore I do that, I want to mention a couple of things we see wrong with Yellow Pages online services.Ī few of our current clients have switched over from Yellow Pages online services. They offer Google Adwords advertising, SEO and priority rankings in their online directories. They’re working their way into the online marketing world. So let’s get to it! Death Of The Phone Book My goal is to provide you honest feedback like I did with this Yelp advertising review so you can make an informed decision. The answer is based off of the experiences auditing a few of our current client’s websites who switched from Yellow Pages online to work with us. Before I answer this question, be sure to read my review of YellowPages latest service offering called NetSync. I’ll answer this question over the course of this blog post. Doing it well takes a lot of practice and digital know-how.īut fortunately, that’s where we come in.A question we often get asked is “Is Yellow Pages online worth it?” There are just so many different platforms and things are always changing. Subscriptions start at just £1 a day.įor a business owner, advertising online is complicated. We’ll build you a highly optimised website, list your business on Google and Facebook, and get you found in online searches. We’re new and nimble, and we provide small businesses all over Europe with a strong online presence for a low cost. While Yell will now advertise your business for you on Google, customers often report spending thousands of pounds for only a few leads. It’s clear yellow pages will be replaced by an online solution these directories now publish listings online instead of in-print.īut customers nowadays are Googling the service they want more often than they’re turning to old-fashioned listings. More and more customers search for services online, and this trend shows no signs of slowing down without a website, most small business are as good as invisible. In fact, 83 percent of consumers now find local businesses using an online search engine, and roughly half will visit the storefront they find within one day.īut, although roughly 90 percent of consumers report searching for local businesses online, only 10 percent of small businesses have a website. With print directories gone, consumers now rely almost entirely on the web. But if no one uses them, where do customers look to find local businesses? So yellow pages are now officially a relic of the past. As the biggest producer of yellow pages, this is the final nail in the coffin for the in-print business directory. Yet as telephones have morphed into smartphones, yellow-page directories have rapidly been losing their relevance - and last month, after lagging sales, Yell announced plans to completely cease the production of its Yellow Pages by January 2019. Most of us are sending texts, checking email, or getting directions.īut we still rely on our phones to search for businesses and services. Nowadays, the average person touches his or her smartphone more than 2,000 times each day. Of course, few of us use our mobile phones to actually call anyone. In 2009, the entire yellow pages industry earned $26 billion in revenue - a significantly bigger number than Google’s 2008 earnings of $21.8 billion. Moreover, these big yellow books were once worth big money. (Each one weighed between 3 and 4 pounds on average and, in the United States, there were 1.7 yellow pages printed for every single person each year, which required cutting down 20 million trees annually.) The ubiquity of these brightly coloured booklets is hard to overstate they were everywhere. Then, for more than a century, these directories were the only reliable way for customers to search for a business or service. In fact, it led directly to the concept of “ yellow pages.” In a relatively short time, phone listings around the world were printed on yellow paper as a rule, regardless of which phone company produced them. This production quirk was unintentionally popular. A small printer in Cheyenne, Wyoming is busy at work producing a local telephone directory.īut they’ve run out of white paper, and so they switch to yellow reams. It’s 1883, seven years after Alexander Graham Bell made the first ever phone call. This view is an overview of the Incidents tab in your Pro Management Portal. The result is a much cleaner video image and you can tell even from looking at the LCD in live view mode how much better it is. Sony have completely revamped the sensor since the NEX 6 and NEX 7, which was much needed. It has loads of video features and aids to help you get the right exposure and focus just like a proper video camera should. The A6000’s form factor and handling are lovely. That delivered lovely video, nice and clean, good in low light but unfortunately the form factor wasn’t great for video and it lacked a lot of features. Have we seen this sensor before? It seems very similar to the one in the Nikon D5300, which was manufactured by Sony. It has high speed frame rates up to 60fps at full resolution, great 24MP stills quality, very nice OLED EVF, articulated screen, uncompressed HDMI output and pretty good built quality as well. With Speed Booster you can go full frame with it. It has a larger sensor than the GH4, Super 35mm so a good match to the Hollywood standard. The rest of the camera is packed with good stuff. The GH4 price is amazing for what it is, but this is $1000 less and only really lacks one major feature of the GH4… the 4K image. The A6000 does not do 4K but it does do lovely 1080p.ĤK might not (yet) be for everyone so if that is the case for you then prepared to get excited because the Sony A6000 is a mega surprise. For a start it is $650. I am told the A7R could have done 4K but only for a few seconds due to heat issues. However Sony are also pushing very hard and the A6000 really is a lovely camera for video. I much prefer the GH4’s image in 4K over the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera. It is a pro cinematography tool priced like a consumer camera. If you want the ultimate image quality for the price, the GH4 is it. At just $650 it is an absolute bargain.Īll eyes are currently on the Panasonic GH4 and for good reason, because the image is spectacular in 4K and 4K is the future. This is arguably the best current ‘cheap’ camera for video, de-throning the GH2 and GH3. A Nikon D5300 in a mirrorless body, with far more features, the image quality is closer to the FS700 in 1080p than to a NEX 7 or A5000. If you are looking for a camping battery box on a budget, this is definitely worth considering. The Kings Battery Box has a resettable circuit breaker built in to protect both your battery and any appliances you plug in against unexpected surges. If you really want to make sure your product is protected for the longest period of time then pay close attention to the warranty for each battery box. Most battery boxes come with a 12-month warranty, but a few manufacturers offer a 24-month warranty. Do your homework to get clear on what type of outputs you need (Anderson plug, USB-A, USB-C, 12V DC Cigarette, 12v DC pin, 240v etc), and how many of each, and then compare these against each battery box you consider. One of the most important considerations is the number and type of outputs a battery box has. Some boxes have this built-in, whereas others do not include this. Most battery boxes can be connected in a variety of ways (Wall charger, car adapter, solar panel).īut keep in mind that when you are away from home, 12v power out of a vehicle will not fully charge your battery unless you have a DC to DC charger, due to the voltage level. You need to know how you want to charge your battery box before you leave home, and while you are away. Size-wise, most battery boxes are designed to fit N70 size batteries which will tend to be around 100Ah, potentially up to 120Ah, but if you want an even bigger battery, check the dimension of the battery you want, and make sure it will fit inside the box casing. Lithium batteries for battery boxes are becoming more and more normal now, and most battery boxes are designed to handle lithium batteries, but make sure of this, before locking in your purchase if you want a lithium battery box. The two most important factors to consider with your battery box battery are the battery chemistry type (Lead acid/gel/lithium), and the size. These factors will help you narrow down on the features you need, so you can then assess which battery box might be useful for you. 8 Engel Smart Battery Box – Series 2 (Best Battery Box With Inverter) Choosing A Battery BoxĬhoosing a battery box can be overwhelming given the sheer number of available options. |
